I got to go to Vegas by myself to visit my brother! It was a fairly short trip but lots of fun, as it was just the two of us.
My flight landed a little after 5 (PST). Basically all we did was go eat at Rx Boiler Room and then hang out at his house.
Food day! That’s basically all that was on the agenda for Thursday. We went to an exotic pet store for me to look for a few things for Thomas, our new pet turtle (post coming on him later). Since my brother has a snake, he’s been a great resource on what to do for reptiles.
After a trip to the pet store, we ate lunch at Lotus of Siam. It is one of the best Thai places in the nation and it’s located in a little strip mall of strip. It is a Las Vegas institution. We arrived a little before 11:30, which is when lunch service starts. By 11:50 the place was full.
Once we finished lunch we headed back to his house to rest before dinner. Since dinner was at Le Cirque in the Bellagio we visited the atrium first. The theme was summer and it was amazing as usual. They change the theme with the seasons and it’s always beautiful.
Dinner was at Le Cirque and was AMAZING. We did the pre-theater menu since we were going to see “O” at 7:30. The Cirque du Solie show, “O”, was on the agenda after dinner. We had awesome seats that my brother got us for FREE since he works for cirque. The show was enthralling and very entertaining. Mind-blowing cirque show that I would highly recommend.
After all the rich food the day before my stomach was protesting. We headed out to Town Square so I could shop at H&M and while we were there we grabbed a bite. I had a salad.
The next thing on the agenda was indoor rock climbing. My brother has recently started climbing with a friend of his so we all met up to go. It was my first time and I’m afraid of heights so wasn’t really sure how much fun I would have, but I was along for the ride. I ended up loving it despite a couple of bruises!
3 1/2 hours later, it was time to eat again. We headed to Naked City Pizza which was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The food was really good. The service was ‘meh’, but overall it was a good choice. For dessert, Art of Flavors gelato was on the agenda. It was another little hole in the wall place that had the best gelato. And then we went to the Fremont Street Experience just so I could see it. Interesting is all I really have to say about it. And somewhat disturbing as well.
Go home day. 😪 Went to Grouchy John’s for coffee and to Capriotti’s for lunch. Both were good. Coffee was better than the sandwich. I got an iced Salted Caramel Iced Latte and it was really good. Capoletti’s I got a turkey sandwich on kaiser roll. The best part was the tomatoes, sweet peppers, and pickles with the seasoning. I could have had just that and forgone the meat even though it was good as well.
It was a really fun trip and I enjoyed getting to spend time with my brother. We are hoping to go rock climbing again when he comes to visit. Until then I’ll let my bruises heal (pic was taken about 15 hours post trauma…..they only got prettier).
